The 14th Türkiye Graduate Studies Congress Held at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University
The 14th Türkiye Graduate Studies Congress, organized by the Scientific Studies Association (İLEM) since 2012, was held on May 7–9, 2026, and hosted by Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.
Over 1,600 Papers Presented Across 14 Universities in 12 Cities Over 13 Years
Organized with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary studies in the field of social sciences and contributing to qualified academic production, the congress began on May 7, 2026, with an opening program held at the Nizamülmülk Hall of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. The opening and welcoming remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Ramazan Tiyek, Chairman of the Board of the Scientific Studies Association, and Prof. Dr. İsmail Küçük, Rector of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.
Following the opening and welcoming remarks, the opening panel titled “Digitalization as a Field of Research” was held under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Hediyetullah Aydeniz. During the panel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eyüp Al delivered a presentation titled “Identifying Problems in Digitalization and Deepening Crises: Emerging Lines of Tension”; Dr. Psychologist Ayşe Beyza Bıçakçı delivered a presentation titled “Addiction or Transformation? The Brain and the Self in the Digital Age”; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Alaattin Aslan delivered a presentation titled “From Problem Identification to Solution Building: Searches and New Directions.”
Following the opening panel, paper presentations continued throughout the three-day congress. Young academics and graduate researchers presented more than 100 papers across 16 different fields of social sciences.
